Texans signing Lindsay to 1-year pact worth reported $3.25M
The Houston Texans and free-agent running back Phillip Lindsay agreed to a one-year contract, Lindsay's agent, Mike McCartney, announced Friday.
Lindsay's deal is worth $3.25 million with $500,000 available in incentives, a source told Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.
The 26-year-old hit the open market after the Denver Broncos rescinded his restricted free-agent tender Thursday.
Lindsay produced back-to-back 1,000-yard campaigns in Denver after being signed as an undrafted free agent in 2018. He also racked up 17 total touchdowns and 70 catches over his first two seasons.
But Lindsay's production dipped last season after the arrival of Melvin Gordon. He missed five games due to a knee injury, finishing the year with 502 rushing yards and one score.
Lindsay will join a backfield that already contains David Johnson and Mark Ingram. The latter signed a one-year, $3-million deal with Houston last week after being released by the Baltimore Ravens.
