Report: Ravens, Colts schedule visits with Watkins
Free-agent wide receiver Sammy Watkins is set to visit the Baltimore Ravens on Tuesday, a source told Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.
The 27-year-old is also scheduled to visit the Indianapolis Colts on Wednesday, adds ESPN's Adam Schefter. Additionally, the Tennessee Titans and Houston Texans are interested in Watkins, according to Schefter.
The Ravens entered the offseason with a glaring need at wide receiver, and they have yet to make a notable addition to their pass-catching group. They've pursued several targets, reportedly inquiring about Kenny Golladay, and offering JuJu Smith-Schuster a more valuable one-year contract than the one he signed with the Pittsburgh Steelers.
The three AFC South clubs connected to Watkins also have a pressing need at receiver. Indianapolis is in the market for a veteran presence with T.Y. Hilton testing the open market. The Titans are looking to replace Corey Davis, who signed with the New York Jets. And the Texans are rebuilding a receiver room that has lost DeAndre Hopkins and Will Fuller in consecutive offseasons.
Watkins spent the last three seasons with the Kansas City Chiefs, recording 1,613 yards and eight touchdowns over 34 contests. Injuries, which have been an issue throughout his career, limited him to 10 appearances in 2020.
Watkins produced his best season with the Buffalo Bills in 2015, when Ravens offensive coordinator Greg Roman was calling the plays in Orchard Park.
Hilton and Antonio Brown are among the other wide receivers still available in free agency.
