Plasma 5: Allow automatic sleep and screen locking gets "stuck"
by montagdude from LinuxQuestions.org on (#5FPHH)
Sorry for the title; I didn't really know how to describe the problem succinctly. On a laptop with Plasma 5, if you click the battery icon in the system tray, there is a check box labeled "Allow automatic sleep and screen locking." By default, it is checked. Sometimes I uncheck it if I have a process going on and I don't want the computer to sleep.
As of the last couple updates to Plasma, I've noticed that if I uncheck it and then check it again, automatic sleep and screen locking isn't restored like it should be. I have to log out and back in again to get it working again. This can obviously be problematic if the user doesn't realize it, since it will continue to use the battery and remain unlocked. Can anyone else confirm this behavior?
