The New York Giants' signing of tight end Kyle Rudolph has hit a snag.

The two sides' free-agent agreement has yet to become official because the Giants' medical staff is concerned with Rudolph's foot after he underwent a physical, NFL Network's Mike Garafolo reports.

New York believes Rudolph will need surgery.

The two-year pact was reportedly worth $12 million.

Rudolph spent the past decade with the Minnesota Vikings, who released him earlier this month. He missed the last four games of the 2020 season with a foot injury and finished the campaign with 28 catches for 334 yards and one score.

The sure-handed tight end is a proven red-zone threat who's recorded 48 career touchdown receptions. Rudolph was expected to pair with Giants tight end Evan Engram, who was named to the Pro Bowl in 2020. However, Engram has struggled with drops and managed just one touchdown despite 63 receptions last season.
