Using Transmission on headless server - firewall?
by nomadic101 from LinuxQuestions.org on (#5FWHH)
Hi
I've been setting up a headless home server (debian 10), mainly to share files within my LAN and back up to cloud.
EDIT: I don't access my home server remotely/externally, only via ssh LAN.
I'm tempted to use it also as a seedbox and install transmission, following this guide.
Though I'm confused about using a firewall. Home server set up as LAN only, and I've assumed I don't need to install a firewall, as it's behind a nat router (which has a firewall).
Though do I need to install ufw, if using transmission?
Thanks
