Hamilton police flood Main and Wentworth area after man, 25, stabbed in the neck
A convenience store customer was stabbed in the neck during a random attack that had police flood the area around Main and Wentworth streets to search for the suspect.
The 25-year-old male victim was coming out of the Royal Convenience store at 581 Main St. E. just after 11 p.m. Saturday when a stranger stabbed him, Hamilton Police say. The victim was able to call 911 himself and was later taken to hospital where he remains. As of Sunday morning, police had not yet been able to interview him.
Officers raced to the scene and arrested a suspect at Main and Sanford Avenue. The man made no comments after being arrested, according to police. His reason for stabbing the victim is unknown.
The 38-year-old man is charged with aggravated assault and breaching his probation, which relates to a previous aggravated assault conviction.
