Fresh install on ASUS EEE netbook from USB
by RevLev from LinuxQuestions.org on (#5FZFM)
I have an old ASUS eee pc that I'm trying to install linux on. I can't for the life of me get it to boot from USB port. I've tried ISOs of UBUNTU, LUBUNTU, and slax. For LUBUNTU and slax I specifically used 32 bit distros. I've disabled boot booster and quiet boot, set the USB as priority boot drive, etc. I even disabled all the other boot locations, which results in the PC simply refusing to boot. There's more than one USB port, but I've tried them both with the same result.
Any suggestions? I'm at the point of simply giving up on the netbook entirely.
