Balena-etcher not working all of a sudden

Another frustrating issue that really shouldn't be. I've used balena-etcher several times with no issues and now all of a sudden it does not work AT ALL! What gives?
I've tried downloading, unzipping and opening several times and all i want to do is to format my usb stick. It just says "could not open Balena-etcher AppImage Archive type not supported"
Why all of a sudden this output? I've never had this happen before and it is REALLY pissing me off. Please help me with this. Thanks.
I'm using a Lenovo Thinkpad t450 with Fedora Workstation 33.
