Endeavour will only boot from fallback.img

I'm not sure what I did wrong. I had Endeavour Linux installed on one partition and then installed Deepin on another. When I boot up, I get the Deepin grub menu, but when I choose the Endeavour item, I get a kernel panic: "Kernel panic - not syncing: VFS: Unabler to mount root fs on unknown-block(0,0)". The strange thing is that if I choose Advanced option for Endeavour and choose intitramfs fallback.img, it boots up just fine.

I've read a few posts on this and it seems I'm not the only one who has this issue, and there really hasn't been a solution as yet. I'm wondering, is there any drawbacks to booting from the fallback image? Can I just keep booting from it? I know it loads a lot of stuff I don't need, but hey, if it boots and there aren't any major disadvantages, I'll just leave it as is.

Of course, if there is a simple way to fix this issue, I'm all ears.latest?d=yIl2AUoC8zA latest?i=rzFHQMhZicM:1HhUlnNSj7w:F7zBnMy latest?i=rzFHQMhZicM:1HhUlnNSj7w:V_sGLiP latest?d=qj6IDK7rITs latest?i=rzFHQMhZicM:1HhUlnNSj7w:gIN9vFwrzFHQMhZicM
