rxvt-unicode/tmux artifacts

I have recently upgraded to current to try it out, and so far everything's been perfectly fine except for one problem that is driving me crazy.
When trying to type in an rxvt-terminal running tmux, I get cursor artifacts and slow screen updating often enough that it's getting annoying. Often a simple backspace will clear the artifact, but right now I'm trying to rip a CD with ABCDE and editing the CD information at the moment is frustrating.
Since no one's mentioned this, it's got to be something local, but I don't even know where to start debugging. All suggestions welcome.
