Intro's

Hello everyone,
I'm an excited new Linux user/convert. Currently I'm running Manjaro/KDE on a new machine I just built. I originally loaded Fedora 33/KDE, but later found out they have ties to Microsoft and that's an issue for me. I got into computers back in 1982 with a Texas Instruments TI-99/4A that I used to learn Basic and Extended Basic. Later I bought a Commodore 64 that I used to hack games and trade with my friends. In school we used IBM pc jrs, but mainly just was taught electronic typing.
I bought a PC in 90', 386 w/Windows 3 which I promptly deleted and learned to operate in DOS. From there on I pretyy much just gamed and did minor hacking, but once I got married I mainly just used the PC for surfing the web and paying bills.
In 2004 I got fed up with Bill Gates/Microsoft and bought a Mac G4/MDD and used Apple Products up until January of this year when Big Tech colluded against the president and conservatives to infringe on free speech and that was enough for me. I was fully invested in the Apple ecosystem with multiple phones, mac mini's, ipods, 1000's of songs and movies and even a terrible Apple TV, but no more.
I then set about learning about Linux and the different distro's and which one were better for different reasons and uses. I'm mainly a Day trader these days, use lots of spread sheets and I'm on the web 10-12 hours a day. Next I found out which hardware worked best with which distro I was interested in and then ordered up the parts from Newegg, downloaded the files and made an iso and then built my machine and booted up first try.
Its been years since I've done any programming or hacking, but I've chosen my path thru Manjaro and plan to work towards one day being an Arch user, but no rush, plenty to tackle right now and my setup works nearly perfectly right now.
