debugging usb issues in ubuntu?
by babag from LinuxQuestions.org on (#5G8GY)
running ubuntu studio 20.04 with low latency kernel and kde. been having issues with my usb connections. i have a bunch of devices, multiple keyboards, audio mixer, xkeys macro pad, mouse, all running through a usb hub. was fine for a long time but has developed issues.
the mouse gets sticky. it will stop for a fraction of a second to a second or so periodically. sometimes my main keyboard will go dark (it's backlit) and stop taking input. when it gets really bad the xkeys and the keyboard will alternately flash on and off. when the xkeys is lit, the keyboard is dark and vice versa. when this happens it's all over and all i can seem to do is reboot by hard reset (power button).
i've replaced the hub and the problem persists so i know it's not that.
