Need a new laptop

My Wife needs a new laptop due to an accident with her present one. Prefer an i5. Slim and light is best due to mild mobility issues. Her vision isn't great so a larger screen is desirable. What is the best brands of Windows laptops that are Linux friendly to look at. I hear Dell is good and recent Lenovo are supposed to be ok. I know this has been discussed before, but it is a moving target.
