Problem with adding apps to panel in Manjaro Cinnamon

New install (v.21) and it's different from last time (v.20.1).
Now, when I right-click on a menu item "Add to panel" it instead adds a full Panel launcher, which makes for a lot of extra work - don't like it.
It used to just add the app's icon.
Does anybody know why or how to fix this?
