Desktop strange behaviour

Hello, I am running Ubuntu Desktop 20.04.2 LTS Fossa on my Lenovo ideapad 110-17ikb laptop. Half the icons on my desktop disappear and I have to restart the laptop for them to appear again. This happens often. What could be the reason for this and is there a possible fix? This occured with Ubuntu 18.04 and is happening again, after I installed the newer version.
