Wizard requires the DISPLAY variable to be set

Hello everyone
when i run rapidwiz to upgrade oracle application i got this message:
>> Wizard requires the DISPLAY variable to be set.
>> Please set your DISPLAY variable and restart Rapid Install Wizard
i tried to run as root :
DISPLAY=:0.0
export DISPLAY
xhost +
i got that error
Xlib: connection to ":0.0" refused by server
Xlib: No protocol specified
xhost: unable to open display ":0.0"
it is running on redhat linux 5.10
