Three new COVID deaths in Hamilton as city reports over 100 new cases for fifth day
Hamilton reported three new COVID-19 deaths on Tuesday, and more than 100 new cases for the fifth straight day.
All three deaths appear to be people 80 years and older. The city has now had 337 deaths to date, with about 68 per cent of them occurring within this age group.
There were 143 new cases.
Four new outbreaks were declared, including two in workplaces and two in schools.
A large outbreak was declared at Oakrun Farm Bakery in Ancaster with 15 staff cases. ArcelorMittal Dofasco also has a new outbreak with three staff cases - the third ongoing outbreak at the Burlington Street East steelmaker.
Cootes Paradise Elementary School on King Street West has three student cases. St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Elementary School on Greencedar Drive has one student and one staff case.
