Can I not count local traffic in vnstat?
by lucmove from LinuxQuestions.org on (#5GJ5G)
I have vnstat monitor my Internet use because I have a monthly quota I don't want to exceed.
My desktop is connected to the modem over Ethernet and my cell phone is connected to the modem over WiFi. Sometimes, I transfer files across them over WiFi.
Everything works very well except that I just transferred 2.5GB of files and vnstat added that to the monthly consumption. I checked at the Internet provider's control panel and confirmed that they didn't count the 2.5GB. Their own metering is not done in the modem.
I use an Android application called X-plore that creates a Web interface, accessible from my desktop through my regular browser. It is always the same address, 192.168.1.882:4400.
Is there some way I can tell vnstat not to count any transfers involving that address? I checked the two man pages (vnstat and vnstat.conf) and couldn't find anything.
TIA
