Excessive CPU Usage w/ Firefox After Kernel Upgrade to 4.4.261

This is just a general informational post.
I developed excessive CPU cycle usage immediately after upgrading to kernel 4.4.261 recently. This has continued to be an issue for the last week or so since the upgrade.
I finally got tired of it and reverted to the previous (back-up) kernel 4.4.240. All's fine again now.
Posting this just in case anyone else is having similar issues.
Running Generic w/ initrd on an AMD Phenom II 1090 6-core cpu (Slackware64-14.2 fully updated).
