The Washington Football Team recently asked season-ticket holders for their input as the club considers a name change.

Each fan was shown a selection of names from a broader pool and told to select their preferred choices. Among the options were the Rubies, Warriors, Pilots, Wild Hogs, and Armada.

"This is not a vote for the name, but instead an opportunity to capture insights and perspective that will be so important to this next phase of our rebrand journey," team president Jason Wright said in a letter to season-ticket holders.

Just took a survey supplied from @WashingtonNFL pertaining to the name. Not sure if being a STH or media or what but the names I was asked to weigh in on were the following:

Aces
First City Football Club (FCFC)
Archers
Beacons
Belters
Redtails
Razorbacks
Defenders
Football Team

Other potential names included the Aces, Ambassadors, Archers, Aviators, Beacons, Belters, Capital City Football Club, Commanders, Defenders, DC Football Club, First City Football Club, Football Team, Griffins, Monarchs, Presidents, Razorbacks, Redtails, Redwolves, Renegades, Riders, Rising, Swifts, and Wayfarers.

Demon Cats is also one of the potential names, according to TMZ Sports.

Washington will keep the Football Team name for the 2021 season.

The franchise retired Redskins - a name it held for 82 years - prior to the 2020 campaign after corporate sponsors threatened to cut ties if the name wasn't changed.
