Update Fedora using bootable USB
by ZodWallop from LinuxQuestions.org on (#5GSKX)
I have an HP Stream netbook that I run Fedora 32 on. Everything runs fine, but I can't update to Fedora 33, because the Stream has a hard drive that is just 32GB. When I try updating, it says there is not enough room.
I figured I'd work around it and made a USB with Fedora Media Writer and thought I could use it to install the new Fedora release (actually, I wrote the USB to install 34 beta).
When I plug the USB into the Stream and open it with files, I just see some folders and a few documents. I went into the LiveOS folder and double clicked squashfs.img. There is an option to write directly to the hard drive. But since I don't know what I'm doing, I didn't want to brick the laptop.
I've tried restarting the laptop with the USB plugged in, but it just boots to Fedora 32.
What should I do here?
