search on xfce desktop, incl. network?

Hello,
I'm using xfce on Debian bullseye on one machine, and Mate on Ubuntu on my SO machine.
I'm considering shifting her to Deb/xfce too for various reasons, but one thing prevents this move at the moment : the xfce desktop search function.

Not only there is no search box on within the xfce file manager window, but searching remote servers is at best complicated, while she just gets that by typing in the Mate search field.
Because of this I'm considering Mate on Debian for her.

Is there any other desktop that would be similarly efficient for searches, including on a network?
Thank you!

P. S. I'm also using the "Recoll" tool, which I find extremely efficient at indexing the contents of all files, but I find myself unable to 'plug' it into Xfce...
P. S. 2 : talking of searches, I always have lots of trouble searching this very Linuxquestions forum : this time as usual, I got a database error, so I was unable to reach previous posts on this kind of topic :( -what did I miss?latest?d=yIl2AUoC8zA latest?i=h7RGGs8FKhM:8jLhO19_zU4:F7zBnMy latest?i=h7RGGs8FKhM:8jLhO19_zU4:V_sGLiP latest?d=qj6IDK7rITs latest?i=h7RGGs8FKhM:8jLhO19_zU4:gIN9vFwh7RGGs8FKhM
