Report: Dalvin Cook won't switch number due to cost of buying unsold jerseys
Dalvin Cook considered changing his jersey to No. 4, but after finding out it'd cost him around $1.5 million to buy his unsold jerseys, the Minnesota Vikings star running back will stick with No. 33 in 2021, sources told Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk.
Cook apparently confirmed the report on Twitter:

The two-time Pro Bowler began looking into changing his jersey after the NFL expanded number options for players. Running backs, wide receivers, and tight ends are now permitted to wear any number between 1-49 and 80-89.
The league's new jersey rule reportedly requires players who change their number for 2021 to buy out the remaining inventory of their existing jersey. Players who request a change as of the 2022 season can switch numbers at no cost.
The new rule received support from some of NFL's biggest stars - including DeAndre Hopkins and Ezekiel Elliott - but recently drew criticism from Tom Brady, who said the change will "make for a lot of bad football."
Cook wore No. 4 in high school and during his college career at Florida State.
Selected in the second round in 2017, the 25-year-old is coming off his best NFL campaign after recording 1,918 scrimmage yards and 17 total touchdowns through 14 games. He inked a five-year, $63-million extension last September.
