Kali persistence not saving.

Created a Kali w/ persistence on a USB with my ACER 575G-562T laptop. Works Great.

New Laptop HP Spectre It boots fine but won't save any changes.
I have to add a new resolution with xrandr every boot. (boots up 3840x2160) Changes to files are not saved.

still works fine on the old ACER.
