Five staff members tested positive for COVID-19 at two Hamilton Fortinos, the grocers' parent company says.

Loblaw posted about the cases at the west end and Stoney Creek Mountain franchises Friday.

Three staff at the Fortinos location at 21 Upper Centennial Parkway S. tested positive. They were last at work April 22 and 24.

Two staff members tested positive at the 1579 Main St. W. location. They worked April 20 and 21.

A COVID case was also detected at Hamilton Farmers' Market.

The City of Hamilton issued a release Friday about the vendor's positive test. They say the individual, who was working with appropriate safety measures, was last at the market on April 24.

According to the city, a thorough cleaning has taken place and the market will continue operating as usual.

The release says that the city and market issued the notice out of an abundance of caution."
