Laptop Dual-GPUs Not Switching

Dell Vostro 5590 laptop
Intel(R) CoreTM i7-10510U CPU @ 1.80GHz * 8
Mesa Intel(R) UHD Graphics (CML GT2)
NVIDIA GeForce MX250 (with nvidia-driver-460)
Linux Mint 20.1
MATE 1.24.0
I can manually switch between the GPUs using the Nvidia Settings window (requiring a reboot), but the "Nvidia On-Demand" option doesn't switch to the more powerful GPU when I play Minecraft. I followed some instructions somewhere that told me how to enter an Application Profile for Minecraft, which I did and it worked for a while, but after some time it went back to just using the Intel GPU. I couldn't find where I read those instructions before, so I thought I'd ask here for some pointers!
Oh, and fyi, in the settings window I still see all the settings for the Minecraft profile; they just don't seem to work anymore.
