Green Bay Packers head coach Matt LaFleur doesn't even want to think about the possibility of star quarterback Aaron Rodgers leaving the team.

"I can't fathom him not being in Green Bay," said LaFleur after the conclusion of the 2021 NFL Draft on Saturday, according to Matt Schneidman of The Athletic.

I know the reports out there," he added. "This guy is our QB, man. ... I want nothing more than for him to be in a Packer uniform. ... In my eyes, he's the greatest to ever do it."

Prior to the start of the draft Thursday, reports that Rodgers wasn't planning on returning to Green Bay for the 2021 season stunned the football world.

The reigning MVP reportedly is adamant he won't play for the Packers again as long as general manager Brian Gutekunst leads the front office.

Gutekunst said Friday he wasn't aware of any such rift with his quarterback.

"Aaron hasn't said anything like that to me," he said. "I think that's a little unfair to put that on him. ... Nothing's been communicated directly to me."

Rodgers' issue with Gutekunst reportedly revolves around the general manager selecting quarterback Jordan Love in the first round last year. Rodgers reportedly believed the pick meant Green Bay would try and move on from him after the 2020 season.

The 37-year-old apparently is considering holding out of offseason workouts and training camp, and even potentially retirement.

The Packers reiterated they have no intention of trading Rodgers, who is contracted through the 2023 season.
