Norfolk resident dies after being trapped under lawnmower
A Norfolk County resident died Saturday morning after becoming trapped under a lawn mower that was unintentionally driven into a ditch.
Ontario Provincial Police responded to McDowell Road East, just north of Simcoe, at around 10:40 a.m. for reports of a fatal collision.
Police say the deceased - whose identity is being withheld pending notification of family - became trapped after a lawn mower they were operating rolled into a ditch and over the driver.
A few nearby residents who phoned 911 would later help emergency crews free the driver.
They sustained serious life threating injuries and were pronounced dead on scene.
Police say the investigation is ongoing.
