Which distro (probably again) for 1GB memory laptop

Hello

I lost most interest in Linux a number of years ago; I still have a dual boot Win 10 / Ubuntu 12.04 as my main system but the Ubuntu side hasn't seen much use (and has hence not been updated).

Looking for some advise on which distro would be the most suitable for a Fujitsu Amilo Pi 1505 (Core2 Duo at 1.6GHz (I think), 1GB ram, 512GB HD); it was a dual boot WinXP / Ubuntu 12.04.

I did try to install Slacko (Puppy) and ArchLinux and both failed to boot after installation and I just did not have the energy to analyse why. Installed Bunsenlabs Lithium and except for Firefox which seems terribly slow it works reasonably (there is often some lag when typing or starting applications).

I'm in need of a light-weight distro that's easy to configure using graphical applications; at this stage I don't have the appetite to manually edit configuration files. Some basic applications (think music, video and web browser); I will however probably spend most of the time in terminals practicing C++, Python and awk/sed.

Any advise appreciated, thanks in advance.latest?d=yIl2AUoC8zA latest?i=iTDrOlNoq-Y:qvfH4BEFDqU:F7zBnMy latest?i=iTDrOlNoq-Y:qvfH4BEFDqU:V_sGLiP latest?d=qj6IDK7rITs latest?i=iTDrOlNoq-Y:qvfH4BEFDqU:gIN9vFwiTDrOlNoq-Y
