Rebelstork.com, an online resale community for used baby gear, has recently expanded its coverage area to Hamilton and Halton Region. The company is based in Toronto, launched by Emily Hosie just before the pandemic. She wanted to give baby and kids' stuff a longer lifespan and contribute to the circular economy.

Parents wanting to sell gently-used gear made in 2016 or later can fill out an online form to find out how much they can expect to earn on the sale. The company will pick up the item, shoot photos and sell it online. Users keep between 20 and 70 per cent of the item's sale price, depending on how much it sells for.

Parents can make money selling their gear without the hassle of meeting strangers in a parking lot or putting themselves in a compromising position," says Hosie. On average, a seller can earn $400 within 48 hours on a four-item pickup."
