Man arrested after East Avenue North stabbing sends one to hospital
A 38-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a stabbing that sent one person to hospital Saturday afternoon, police say.
Hamilton police responded to 260 East Ave. N., just off Barton Street East, at around 3:45 p.m. for reports of a stabbing.
Staff Sgt. Paul Corrigan said a 32-year-old man was found outside the apartment home with stab wounds in the arm near his chest.
He was taken to a local trauma centre in stable, non-life-threatening condition, said Hamilton Paramedic Supt. Dave Thompson.
Corrigan said the suspect voluntarily came out of his apartment and was arrested.
Four police cruisers cordoned off the intersection at Barton and East for about two hours. The scene was cleared shortly after 6:10 p.m.
