Mud Street lane restrictions on Hamilton Mountain to start Monday
Mud Street West near Valley Park Recreation Centre will be reduced to one lane in each direction starting Monday.
The City of Hamilton said in a release that the four-lane street will be reduced to one lane in each direction between Paramount Drive and Isaac Brock Drive for about six months. Construction will include bridge repairs, new bridge railings, road resurfacing and new sidewalks.
The city also said the multi-use path under the bridge at Felker's Creek that leads into Valley Park will be closed and trail users are advised to take an alternate route.
Drivers and HSR passengers on route 43 should allow extra time to travel through the area as delays are expected.
Other construction spots to be aware of around Hamilton this week include:
- On the Mountain on Upper James Street from Twenty Road to Alderson Drive, continues until about mid-July;
- Crane work restricting the southbound lanes of John Street from King Street to Main Street, Monday to May 15, nightly from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m.;
- Jackson Street from James Street to Hughson Street is restricted for building demolition until the end of May;
- In Dundas, road improvements continue on Highway 8 from Bond Street North to Woodleys Lane until the end of 2022.
