Hamilton police have charged four people with weapon and drug-related offences following an early morning raid on a downtown apartment last month.

In a press release Tuesday, police said after receiving information about drug activity," officers launched an investigation focused on an apartment in the city's core.

On April 29, police said they applied for and were granted a search warrant for an apartment in the area of Queen Street North. Soon after, police conducted a search at the residence and found four males inside, one of which was a youth.

From the apartment, police seized 50 grams of fentanyl, a pair of flashlight conducted energy weapons (sometimes called Tasers), drug paraphernalia consistent with trafficking as well as an unknown amount of cash.

All four people were arrested and charged with a number of drug and weapon-related offences, said police. Those arrested include a 42-year-old Hamilton man, a 55-year-old Hamilton man, an 18-year-old Scarborough man and a Toronto youth.

Anyone with information about the investigation is asked to contact acting Sgt. Kyle Jarvie by calling 905-546-4925. To remain anonymous, call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 or submit tips online at crimestoppershamilton.com.
