The winner of the game involving the Warriors and Lakers will be the No 7 seed in the West playoffs and face the Phoenix Suns; the loser of that game will play the Memphis-San Antonio winner on Friday to be the No 8 West seed. The No 8 seed will then face the No 1 seed in the West, the Utah Jazz.
