Touch screens and new Dell 14 5406
by bashie from LinuxQuestions.org on (#5J5NM)
Hello all and thank you.
I have just acquired a brand new Dell Inspiron 14 5406 could I please find out if first, will it load Linux Mint Cinnamon, from USB, or is it even able to?
It has windows 10 on it pre-installed, i5 8GB ram, and 250GB M.2 SSD.
The Bios is like no other I have seen and there does not seem to be an option that I can see anywhere that would allow me to boot from an external Linux mint SSD hard drive.
My friend has a Inspiron 15 5000 series not touch screen and all he does is go to F12 and boot into the Linux operation system, in fact the external SSD drive boots straight into Linux Mint, its set up to boot from USB.
That option is no were on this Inspiron 14 5604, its all very different. Its as if your not allowed to use any other operation system only windows???
I have been to Dell site and can not make and sense from it. Is there a site that I have not found that could point me in the right direction, other wise I will have to sell it. Thank you all.
