switched monitors and now video is jerky

I've been running two monitors---720p 19inch and 1080p 24inch. I just unplugged the 24 inch and plugged another monitor into it---1080p 48inch. It's the big one from my living room.
Now when I watch any type of video---youtube or something I have on harddrive---the video plays for about 2 seconds, then pauses for one second, over and over. I have no idea what to do.

EDIT: I should add that I've been plugging my crappy laptop to this thing and having no problems.
