Oilers' Archibald suspended 1 game for clipping Jets' Stanley
Edmonton Oilers forward Josh Archibald will sit out Game 4 for clipping Winnipeg Jets defenseman Logan Stanley, the NHL's Department of Player Safety announced Monday.
Archibald was assessed a minor penalty for tripping after low-bridging Stanley in the third period of Game 3 of their first-round playoff series Sunday.

"As (Archibald) approaches Stanley, he drops excessively low to the ice, driving his torso into Stanley's knee with force (and) sending him crashing to the ice," the league said. The NHL added that while it was aware of the significant height difference, a player isn't allowed to intentionally lower his body to hit an opponent at or below the knees.
The Jets, who trailed 4-1 at the time, scored on the ensuing power play and rallied to stun the Oilers 5-4 in overtime to take a 3-0 series lead.
Game 4 is scheduled for Monday at 9:45 p.m. ET.
