Hamilton fire crews respond to house fire near the Centre on Barton

No one was hurt in an early-morning house fire near the Centre on Barton.
Emergency services were called to the home at 24 Fraser Ave., north of Campbell Avenue, just before 5 a.m. Tuesday, May 25.
Hamilton Fire arrived to find smoke and fire coming from the roof, said Assistant Deputy Fire Chief Steve Welton.
The fire was quickly brought under control. Firefighters searched the home and no one was inside.
Firefighters remained on scene several hours later for overhaul."
Hamilton police have the road closed in the area.
The cause of the fire and extent of damage is not yet known.
