UPDATE: Power outage in Stoney Creek Wednesday morning
Power went out for almost 4000 residents in Stoney Creek on Wednesday morning.
Just after 10 a.m., Alectra Utility reported the cause of the disruption as an overhead distribution problem and updated that only 702 customers were currently affected in the Margaret Avenue to Dewitt Road and Barton Street to Glenashton Drive area.
Residents and businesses were originally affected from Grays Road to Dewitt Road and from Barton Street to Ridge Road.
The utility company said in a tweet Wednesday morning around 9 a.m., that crews were investigating the failure that turned out the lights for 3979 customers.
Power is still expected to return by 1 p.m.
Updates are posted to the Alectra website.
