USBtoSerial Converter Issue

Hi everyone;
I am a new developer using linux and tring to use a hardware with my computer on which Ubuntu 20.04 is installed. And, while trying to connect to the device, I got error of unable to open serial port.
Then, I have tried to install Putty by following the steps at https://www.usconverters.com/downloa...vers-Linux.pdf.
After that, when run Putty in terminal, I get this error:
(putty:3656): Gtk-CRITICAL **: 10:40:03.465: gtk_box_gadget_distribute: assertion 'size >= 0' failed in GtkScrollbar.
What is the solution of this error?
