Tim Tebow's surprise NFL return is prompting at least one other former player to attempt a similar comeback.

Former New York Giants running back Brandon Jacobs said he's also willing to change positions to make his old team again.

@Giants I am ready. I am ready to hit sack any QB out there. pic.twitter.com/yhP36rTz00

Well since Tebow came back after being off a good bit, I am announcing today that I to will comeback. I will play defensive end for whatever team gives me a chance!!!

I am really serious about coming back as a defensive end. I can still run, I am strong and there's no way Tim Tebow is a better athlete than I am. I just need a shot that's it!! If I can't cut it I'll take it like a man. Just give me one chance that's all!!

Jacobs last took an NFL snap in 2013 before retiring in 2014. He played for the Giants for eight seasons and appeared in two games with the San Francisco 49ers. The 6-foot-4 power runner helped New York win two Super Bowls.

Jacobs turns 39 years old in early July.

Tebow signed with the Jacksonville Jaguars this offseason following a nine-year hiatus from the league. The 33-year-old is attempting to make the team as a tight end after being drafted in 2010 as a quarterback.
