GeckoRolling boot stops - error before [devicename] login:prompt
by pavllvap from LinuxQuestions.org on (#5JC85)
From a full install on external ssd - 512MB EFI with 70GB ext4 and remainder as NTFS. Boot from Win10p machine bios bootlist.
All working a couple of days ago.
Full updates, languages, browser change and Docker - all via Yast.
Access to Windows folders and seemingly fully functional without glitches.
Beginner here so went by the book and no terminal stuff.
Last attempts at boot give this error almost instantly ....
5.6942481 ioremap error for 0x78e31000 - 0x78e32000, requested 0x2, got 0x0
Then [devicename] login: flashing prompt and nothing after that.
Just tried recovery and got a long list of activity ending in a stopped flashing cursor .... no red text seen.
Tried typing "exit" and a couple of other things .... got to my user name and password with following response ...
"You have no mail"
"Have a lot of fun ..."
"()"
Developer humour?
Gecko Rolling Plasma 210519
Trying to learn Linux ... so dont know where to go from that.
