Residents stood in a long lineup outside the Urgent Care Centre on Main Street West on Saturday for their second doses of the AstraZeneca vaccine.

The city planned a pop-up clinic this weekend for those who got their first AstraZeneca dose from a Hamilton family doctor between March 10 and 19.

The province allowed individuals to get their second doses at 10 weeks - instead of the recommended 12 weeks - with informed consent.

The line started in the parking lot and continued along Macklin Street South and up Main Street West to the main door of the centre on Saturday morning.

The walk-in clinic is running May 29 and 30 from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at 690 Main St. W. No appointment is needed for those who are eligible.

Approximately 300 people were lined up at 9 a.m. Saturday.
