The 80-bed mobile health unit - one of two in the province designed for COVID-19 pandemic patients at the end of their hospitalization - is expected to be ready for patients Monday.
Patient bays in one of eight 10-bed wards in the Hamilton Mobile Health Unit were constructed on the site behind the Mark Prease House across from the Hamilton General Hospital.
Each patient bay is equipped with a call button and coding alarms as well as a personal phone on each bedside table, a bedside lamp, a wall clock, and at the foot of the bed portable oxygen machines.
It is a fully equipped facility with an ambulance bay, mobile X-ray, as well as portable EKG and oxygen machines.
