How to use distcc with a windows machine?
by George528 from LinuxQuestions.org on (#5JXP8)
I have gentoo linux on a old laptop and its takes a very long time for stuff to complie.
I think of using distcc so my main pc can help my laptop in compiling, but it uses windows 10. Will these machines be compatible with each other?
I have read this https://distcc.github.io/faq.html at Using different platforms? section, and this http://kegel.com/crosstool/.
Now i installed cygwin and follwed http://kegel.com/crosstool/current/d...wto.html#quick. But crosstool-0.43 hass only gcc-3.4.4, while my laptop has gcc 10.3.0, and i didn't find any new versions of this.
I am also very new to this topic so i am confused a little. Can you guide me through this? I want my windows machine to work alongside with my linux machine.
