The New Zealand government will officially apologise for racist raids on Pacific people that took place in the 1970s.
On Monday the prime minister, Jacinda Ardern, said the time had come to deliver an apology for the dawn raids", when officials would target people believed to have overstayed their visas purely on the basis of their ethnicity.
