Despite being in the NFL for less than two months, quarterback Zach Wilson has impressed the New York Jets' brass early on.

Jets co-owner Woody Johnson expressed his excitement for the second overall pick Wednesday, praising his ability to absorb information quickly.

"(Wilson is) a talent, for sure," Johnson told reporters, according to SNY's Ralph Vacchiano. "I know he's a hard worker. He's obsessive about tape. ... He looks as advertised."

New York has struggled to find consistency since appearing in the AFC title game in 2010. The Jets amassed a disappointing 23-57 record over the last five seasons, finishing last in the AFC East four times during that span.

Quarterback play is partially to blame for the poor results, but Johnson's club has cycled through four different head coaches since 2014.

Robert Saleh is the latest coach attempting to turn the franchise around after New York hired him in January following a successful stint with the San Francisco 49ers. The Jets owner feels like he finally found a promising pairing with his coach and general manager Joe Douglas.

"(Saleh and Douglas are) working together with a dynamic I haven't seen before, great harmony," Johnson said, per Vacchiano.

"I think you've got to have faith," he added. "I don't think patience is a word I would use. ... With this team, I feel something that could be special."
