[SOLVED] Pros and Cons of Dual Booting Windows Linux distro?

Hi! I'm fairly new to Linux(and this forum) and need some advice on dual booting Linux alongside Windows. I'm using a HP laptop running Windows. Tips, pros, cons, warnings, etc would be helpful.
