A pig that became an unlikely national icon in China after surviving 36 days under rubble following a powerful earthquake in 2008 has died at the age of 14, sparking an outpouring of emotion.
Zhu Jianqiang, meaning strong-willed pig", shot to fame after being discovered alive after the magnitude 7.9 earthquake in south-western Sichuan province on 12 May 2008.
