How to get Windows games to work in Linux
by Jukeboxblues from LinuxQuestions.org on (#5K779)
Well, I finally shed the Microsoft O.S. once and for all.
I had been using Windows since Win 95. Over the years I tried a few times to install a Linux distro but something always went wrong. This time, a week ago, the install finally went through okay but Windows 10 was corrupted and I lost it completely. Good riddance. I really like my new Solus O.S.
However, I miss being able to play my Windows version of Trainz 2019 and the Steam version of Microsoft Flight Simulator. I updated Steam account to Linux and have tried everything I can but neither of those games will launch (it says, "Launching Microsoft Flight Simulator" but nothing happens). Wine is installed but I don't much about it.
Just wondering if anyone knows what I have to do to get these two pieces of software running on Solus or if I should just give it up. Regardless, it feels really good to finally be free of Microsoft Windows.
Thanks for your help in advance.
